Your day begins as you leave Marmaris for the picturesque village of Orhaniye. The bay in the village is referred to by the locals as ‘Kızkumu’, meaning Maiden’s Sands. See the silvery sparkling reflection of the turquoise waters and there is a spit of sand reaching into the bay that you can walk across. Orhaniye is famous for this as you will see people 'walking on water' across the bay. The local legend claims that “A local girl who wanted to meet with her lover put some sand in the hem of her skirt and planned to fill the sea with this sand to get to her lover. Next continue on to Bayir Village, situated high up in the hills surrounding Orhaniye, and is well worth the drive just for the spectacular views of the Peninsula. It is most famous for a large tree that is estimated to be 2,000 years old and supposedly brings luck if you walk around it three times. The old village mosque is another sight to see and while in the village, you will be treated to tea at a local tea house and are welcomed to taste the local honey which is country wide famous. Your final stop of the day will be to Icmeler where you’ll have a spectacular panoramic view of the bay before continuing on to the vessel.
